The pitch (one paragraph)
Karate Man is a live-action comedy show that the audience plays like a video game. Using an actual video game controller — passed around the room — the audience commands Karate Man through an anarchically funny choose-your-own-adventure. Every button press changes the story: punch, kick, jump, grab, block. The show began in Sydney and won Best Interactive at the Adelaide Fringe 2025 before crossing to the UK for its 2026 London debut.

Critic pull-quotes
"A brilliantly constructed comedy that will have you eagerly waiting for your turn. Dubosarsky is incredible as Karate Man, remaining committed to the hero persona."
— Myron MyMy, Melbourne Arts Review"Phenomenal sound, costume, and technical design. I've never seen a show like this — more engrossing than most other shows."
— Ryan Hamilton, Funny Tonne"This whole cast was really fantastic… a unique way of doing comedy that I haven't seen before. It felt fresh and authentically edgy."
— Jake Stewart, Praise Dionysus!"Demonstrates the intelligence and skill that goes into absurdist comedy. The level of audience interaction embedded in the performance is a whole other triumph."
— Chantelle Mayo, Toasting Aussie Theatre"Karate Man punches his way onto the stage and into your heart. The single greatest audience-controlled live stage show."

Boilerplate / about the show
Karate Man is the live-action video game comedy show. The audience holds a real video game controller; every button press tells Karate Man what to do next. The result is a different show every night, scripted with the precision of a video game and the absurdity of live comedy. The show has played to sold-out audiences across Australia and makes its UK debut at Hen & Chickens Theatre, Islington, in June 2026, as part of a wider UK and European tour through 2026 and 2027.
Karate Man is produced by BEAK Comedy, an independent comedy company based in Sydney, Australia. The show was created by Bruno Dubosarsky and Daniel Scarratt and has been written by an ensemble of Australian comedy writers across multiple incarnations since 2022.
